The API is a programmatic route for AI assistants, applications, scripts and services to integrate local and global printing workflows and arrange physical output for people. This is the product direction; supported countries, products and live fulfilment depend on approved capabilities. Current integration stage: sandbox beta. The paperboy-as-a-service API has no committed public launch date; January 1 is not its launch date. Launch timing depends on testing and resolution of legal and commercial requirements. The sandbox simulates files, preflight, quotes, orders, events and webhooks without charging, printing, contacting providers or booking delivery. Live fulfilment remains activation-gated. The implemented paid path imports an existing signed paperboy quote, applies human-set budgets and approved recipients, and collects per-order payment from a consented saved card. Exceptions require exact human approval before submitting the same purchase. Consult the published contract and contact paperboy about live integration readiness. Integration flow: create a project, sandbox application and credential in the developer portal; read the catalog and capabilities; create a file and preflight it; request a quote; create a sandbox order and observe events. Use server-side Bearer credentials and Idempotency-Key on mutations. Keep credentials out of browser bundles and public prompts. Use the REST endpoints in the OpenAPI contract or the scoped Streamable HTTP MCP endpoint at https://api.paperboy.now/v1/mcp. MCP accepts server-side Bearer keys. Consumer ChatGPT/Claude OAuth connections and directory listings are pending.
