These are the points a shop owner should be able to explain back to Paperboy.
Paperboy sends offers. You may accept or decline each offer without an automatic penalty. An accepted job becomes a firm production commitment.
Every offer shows the production specification, deadline, handoff method and exact shop payout before you decide.
The shop fixes proven production mistakes. Paperboy bears failures caused by its files, instructions, payment flow or arranged courier.
Use files and recipient data only for the accepted job, restrict access, securely destroy waste and delete temporary copies after handoff.
The relationship is non-exclusive. Paperboy does not guarantee orders, revenue, territory or ranking. Any estimate of jobs per day or month in marketing or onboarding is illustrative only and does not create a duty to offer or pay for that volume. The shop remains an independent business.
Posters, tracked links, referrals and reward programmes are optional. They are not a condition of receiving ordinary marketplace offers.
The following terms, including the service-level and data-processing sections, form the complete agreement. A later help page or dashboard message does not silently replace them.
This agreement is between Plastic People UG (haftungsbeschraenkt), c/o Shelley, Wendenschlossstrasse 155, 12557 Berlin, Germany, operating the Paperboy service ("Paperboy"), and the business, sole trader or individual operator identified in the Provider account (the "Provider").
The person signing confirms that they are at least 18 years old, are the Provider or have authority to bind it, and have accurately stated their operating status. The agreement starts when that person signs electronically and Paperboy makes the signed PDF available.
This agreement includes these terms, the service-level terms in section 10, the data-processing terms in section 8, and any job-specific condition clearly shown before the Provider accepts that job.
Paperboy operates technology that receives customer orders, validates production instructions, matches eligible shops, coordinates fulfilment and delivery, collects customer payment where applicable, and pays the Provider the amount offered for an accepted job.
For each accepted job, the Provider supplies print-production and handoff services as an independent operator, to the extent that status is lawful in its country. The Provider controls its time, staff, premises, equipment, prices or minimum payouts, and lawful production methods, subject to the accepted specification and this agreement.
The relationship is non-exclusive. Neither party may bind the other or represent that it is the other's employee, franchisee or legal partner. Paperboy does not guarantee offer volume, revenue, territory, exclusivity or a minimum term.
Any estimate of order volume given before or after this agreement — including figures such as a number of jobs per day or per month in marketing, onboarding or sales conversations — is illustrative only. It does not create an obligation on Paperboy to offer, assign or pay for that number of jobs, or any jobs, if customer demand is lower or jobs are not offered to the Provider. Payment is owed only for jobs the Provider has accepted, on the terms of the accepted offer.
The Provider must be lawfully able to provide and receive payment for the services it enables. It must obtain any registration, tax status, permission or insurance required for its actual activity and country, and give Paperboy accurate identity, ownership where applicable, contact, address, hours, capability, delivery and payout information.
The Provider must promptly update information that affects fulfilment. Paperboy will not treat a suggested or default setting as an operational fact unless the Provider actively reviews and saves it.
Paperboy may reasonably verify the Provider, its owners, locations, documents, equipment, insurance and test output before or during the relationship. Verification does not transfer the Provider's responsibilities to Paperboy.
Before acceptance, an offer must show the production specification and quantity, shop location, ready or handoff deadline, delivery or collection method, Provider payout and currency, and any unusual packaging or handling condition known to Paperboy.
An offer is optional until accepted. The Provider may decline it without an automatic penalty. Paperboy may withdraw an unaccepted offer. Once accepted, the Provider must reserve the necessary capacity and fulfil the job as agreed.
The Provider must not accept a job it cannot fulfil, accept the same work twice, or subcontract production without Paperboy's prior written approval. It must immediately report a corrupt, incomplete, unsafe or technically impossible file instead of guessing.
The Provider must produce each job exactly to the accepted specification using competent staff, maintained equipment and reasonable quality controls. It must not alter, reproduce, scan, photograph or analyse customer content except as technically necessary to fulfil the job.
The Provider must keep each job separated from unrelated work, protect it from unauthorised access, package it as instructed, and record truthful production, ready, collection and handoff events in Paperboy.
Custody remains with the Provider until the required handoff evidence is recorded. The Provider must immediately report lost, damaged, opened, misdirected or unauthorised access to a job.
The Provider payout shown before acceptance is the amount Paperboy owes for correct fulfilment of that job, excluding a correction expressly permitted below. Paperboy may charge the customer a different total and does not impose an undisclosed retroactive shop-side commission.
The payout dashboard shows the trigger, status and available records. Paperboy initiates undisputed payouts through the available payment provider after the recorded fulfilment trigger and required evidence. Payment-provider checks, reserves, banking times and legal holds may affect arrival time.
A payout may be corrected only for a proven Provider-caused defect, duplicate payment, refund attributable to the Provider, fraud, legal requirement or payment-provider reversal. Paperboy must identify the affected job, amount and reason, and provide a reasonable dispute route.
Each party is responsible for its own taxes, registrations, filings and invoices. The Provider must provide accurate VAT and tax information and must not treat a dashboard estimate as tax advice.
For Paperboy Instant work, the Provider may follow Paperboy's suggested network payout or set a minimum shop payout and available per-unit rates. For specialist services, the Provider chooses a fixed payout, starting payout or quote. Paperboy shows its fee and the customer total before purchase. An accepted Provider payout remains fixed except as expressly allowed here.
A Provider-caused defect is a material failure to follow the accepted specification or reasonable production quality. A preference not stated in the specification, a faulty Paperboy file, customer error or courier damage after valid handoff is not automatically a Provider-caused defect.
Paperboy assesses complaints using the job specification, available evidence and each party's contribution. For a proven Provider-caused defect, Paperboy may require a priority reprint or recover the directly affected payout. Paperboy bears the reasonable correction cost where Paperboy's file, instructions, payment flow or arranged courier caused the failure.
The Provider must report any threat to an accepted deadline immediately. If Paperboy or the customer cancels after production begins without Provider fault, Paperboy will pay documented authorised work and unavoidable materials up to the accepted payout. The Provider may dispute a cancellation or correction through support.
Customer files, document content, recipient details, credentials and production metadata are confidential. The Provider may process them only on Paperboy's documented instructions to fulfil accepted jobs and must send privacy questions to privacy@paperboy.now.
The Provider must limit access to trained people who need it, use access controls and supported systems, protect downloads and printed output, prevent staff from using personal devices for unnecessary copies, and securely destroy spoilage and test sheets containing customer content.
The Provider must notify Paperboy without undue delay and within 12 hours after discovering suspected loss, disclosure, alteration, unauthorised access or another security incident. It must preserve evidence, limit harm and cooperate with investigation and legally required notices.
The Provider may not appoint a subprocessor for customer document data without Paperboy's prior written authorisation. It must assist with data-subject requests, security reviews and deletion evidence, and may not transfer job data outside the EEA without a documented lawful instruction and transfer mechanism.
The Provider must delete production files and temporary copies promptly after verified handoff, except where Paperboy instructs a short operational retention period or law requires retention. Required retained data must be isolated and used only for that legal purpose.
Each party must comply with laws applicable to its work. The Provider must refuse material that it is clearly prohibited from producing and must maintain legally required or commercially customary insurance for its operations.
The Provider may contact a customer or recipient only where the accepted job requires it or Paperboy authorises it. It must not use job data for marketing, divert an active Paperboy job, or solicit the customer using confidential Paperboy information.
Each party keeps its pre-existing intellectual property. Paperboy grants a limited licence to use approved Paperboy materials during the relationship. The Provider grants Paperboy a limited licence to show its verified business name, location, capabilities and branding to operate the service.
For each accepted job, the job's specification and deadline control. The Provider must acknowledge material production problems promptly, keep status events accurate, complete the required handoff evidence, and report security incidents within the period stated above.
After at least 20 completed jobs provide a meaningful sample, Paperboy may review a 95% on-time handoff target, a Provider-cancellation rate no higher than 2%, and a proven Provider-caused defect rate no higher than 1%. A single serious fraud, safety, confidentiality or security event may justify immediate protective action regardless of sample size.
Normal remediation is proportionate: explain the issue, agree a corrective action, monitor improvement, restrict only the affected capability or location where practical, and provide a review route. These service levels do not create automatic monetary penalties or guarantee order volume.
Eligibility is first determined by hard requirements including active location, confirmed hours, enabled capabilities, delivery coverage, account readiness and job fit. Among eligible shops, Paperboy may consider distance, expected readiness, capacity, reliability, quality history, payout economics and customer experience.
Network payout guides are recommendations and routing inputs, not compulsory Provider tariffs. The Provider may decline work, set its minimum payout and available rates, set specialist prices, pause a listing or stop accepting new offers. Paperboy may automatically present the customer with one matched provider and one total instead of a comparison list.
Paying Paperboy does not buy ranking unless a clearly identified future paid-placement product says so. The Provider can access its shop settings, assigned job information, payout records and available performance information. It does not receive other shops' confidential data or Paperboy's security-sensitive models.
Posters, QR codes, tracked shop links, customer-loyalty rewards and shop-referral programmes are optional. They are not a condition of receiving ordinary eligible offers.
Paperboy may publish separate programme rules covering qualification, attribution, reward windows, minimum baskets, pass-through costs, abuse prevention and future changes. A programme reward applies only when its conditions are satisfied and does not change the payout of an already accepted job unless that job displayed the reward before acceptance.
The Provider may stop accepting new offers at any time and may terminate the relationship on 30 days' notice, subject to completing accepted jobs, resolving open payouts and securely deleting customer data.
Paperboy may restrict a location, capability or offer access where reasonably necessary for quality, safety, fraud, legal, payment or security reasons. Except where urgent action is required, Paperboy will explain the material reason on a durable medium and provide a reasonable opportunity to respond or correct the issue.
Paperboy may terminate on at least 30 days' notice or immediately for serious fraud, illegality, danger, repeated material breach, insolvency, security compromise or conduct that makes continued service unreasonable. Accrued payment, confidentiality, data, liability and dispute obligations survive termination.
Each party warrants that it has authority to enter this agreement and will use reasonable skill and care. Paperboy is responsible for its production instructions, payment flow and contractors it appoints; the Provider is responsible for its staff, premises, equipment, production and authorised subcontractors.
Neither party excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory data-protection responsibility. Otherwise, neither party is liable for indirect loss, lost opportunity or anticipated profit, and responsibility is allocated according to each party's contribution to the event.
Operational and payout disputes should first be sent to legal@paperboy.now. The parties will try in good faith to resolve them using the job record and available evidence. German law governs this agreement and, where legally permitted, the courts at Paperboy's registered seat have jurisdiction.
Paperboy will provide material proposed changes on a durable medium with reasonable advance notice. A shorter period may apply where law, security or an unforeseen urgent risk requires it. A change does not silently alter an accepted job or a payout already agreed for that job.
Legal notices to Paperboy must be sent to legal@paperboy.now and c/o Shelley, Wendenschlossstrasse 155, 12557 Berlin, Germany. Notices to the Provider use the verified account email or another durable contact it supplies.
The Provider may not transfer this agreement without Paperboy's written consent. Paperboy may transfer it as part of a genuine reorganisation, financing or sale of the Paperboy business if the successor assumes Paperboy's obligations and the transfer does not materially reduce the Provider's rights. Paperboy will give notice before a change of contracting entity takes effect.
If a clause is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. The signed PDF, its version, timestamp and signature record form the parties' durable evidence of the agreement.
